Dominated by its fortified castle built in the 14th and 15th centuries, Lassay-les-Châteaux has plenty of surprises in store for the visitor:

The fortified castle  was built in its current form in 1458. To this day it retains its eight towers, its curtain walls, its two-storey barbican and its miniature castle.
The rose garden  , with its 300 different varieties of rose, is located in the former grounds of the Benedictine priory, and is at its glorious best in June.
The medieval garden  is well stocked with numerous varieties of plants.
The central square  , with its granite houses, is quite magnificent.

Wander through the picturesque narrow streets, stop for a look at one of the many wash-houses, and admire the statues that embellish the granite houses along your way.

Château du Bois Thibault and Château du Bois Frou
These nearby châteaux used to share the territory. There is a footpath that takes you to their ruins.

Every summer this little town organises dramatized tours.
The sketches are put on by volunteer actors.
